Shadegrown cigar wrappers are painstakingly grown under giant cheesecloths making them lighter in color and milder in flavor. Sungrown wrappers get direct sun and are typically spicier and richer than those grown under shade.

Maduro is aSpanish term which means "ripe". When refering to cigars, It is both a color designation and a reference to the extra fermentation needed to process the tobacco leaves. The Broadleaf varietals in this bundle are extra thick and oily so they require extra heat and fermentation time to become as exquisite as the are. Maduro (fermented) wrappers are typically richer and sweeter than their counterparts.

Cigar makers and tobacconists agree that the wrapper leaf contributes the majority of flavor (taste+smell) impressions of a premium cigar.
