The Padrón brand was started in 1964 by Cuban exile Jose Orlando Padrón.  Practically penniless, he started making cigars in his Miami home and selling them in local cafeterias where Cubans would gather to drink their famously strong and sweet coffee.  His palate, techinical skills, knowledge, passion and work ethic fueled his business and he eventually set his sights on Nicaragua to create tobaccos that could best replicate the flavor profiles from his homeland in Cuba.  While Padrón's history is long and storied and worth researching, his cigars are as epic as the man himself.  

Padrón cigars are absolutely unique, impeccably cured, fermented, aged and perfectly constructed.  Without hyperbole, we can tell you they capture the essense of Nicaraguan soil, masterful cigar making and occupy a very special place at the top of the luxury tobacco industry.   

TASTING NOTES
Every cigar in this bundle is presented in a Natural and Maduro wrappers.  Cigar makers and tobacconists agree that the wrapper leaf contributes the majority of flavor (taste+smell) impressions of a premium cigar.  The wrapper comes directly in contact with your palate and emits the top note of aroma.  In addition, wrappers are the most beautiful and therefore expensive leaf in a cigar.  In short, wrappers are very important and they have a profound impact on the flavor of a cigar.  This assortment allows you to experience the same binder and filler blends with Natural and Maduro wrappers, giving you the opportunity to learn and appreciate how much the wrapper changes a cigar: educating your mind and palate. All Padrón cigars are known for their almost singularly deep, rich, earthy, fuller bodied and lingering taste and aromas.  They capture the essence of Nicaraguan soil beautifully.  Padrón cigars are more like steak than chicken or like red wine rather than white.  The Natural wrappers convey more spice and distinguished notes of flavor while the Maduro wrappers are richer, deeper, fuller bodied and sweeter, due to the longer fermentation times and temperatures.

These cigars have rich and earthy Nicaraguan flavors with robust aromas and a long lingering finish.  This 2020 aged version has become more nuanced and elegant while resting in our humidor. The Londres is a classic Corona vitola, relatively thin and not too long: perfect with morning coffee or an afternoon break.  The 7000 is thick and long, producing lots of smoke and tons of flavor: great for after a big meal or with some adult beverages.
